ABOUT US
A BRIEF HISTORY
Edgware Cricket Club was formed in 2015 by now chairman, Ciaran Hosty, who wanted to create a social cricket side made up of high school friends and local Edgware residents.
The club's first ever game took place against Watford Town Cricket Club on 4 July 2015 at Woodside Cricket Ground in Watford. Incredibly, this inaugural fixture ended in a 2-wicket win for the boys in blue as future star Sajith Sriwickramasekaran hit a six to secure a memorable victory and create a long running friendship with Watford Town.
Our first season comprised of just three fixtures, but this rose to nine in 2016 and by 2019, the club played 20 fixtures including a pre-season tour of Malaga, Spain. The club joined the Chess Valley Cricket League in 2018 and the Hertfordshire Saturday Cricket League in 2022 and now boasts four sides spread across Saturday and Sunday.
Having spent their formative years as a wandering side, Edgware now host fixtures at the Edgware Cricket Ground (The ECG) in Mill Hill Village, Canons Park and Watford Town Cricket Club (Saturday cricket).
The club ethos focuses on the development and enjoyment of cricket and squad selection is focused on ensuring that players get ample opportunity to play. We welcome players of all abilities and invite social members to get involved in our various social events throughout the season.

SOCIAL & CHARITY
For many Edgware players, a game of cricket is an excuse to socialise with some friends and share stories of previous victories over an ice-cold beer.
Throughout the season, Edgware CC host a number of social events that range from AGMs, pre-season meals, beer pong, mini-golf, visits to either Lords Cricket Ground or the Oval for a T20 blast game and the occassional club social to throw some shapes on the dance floor.
In 2019, Edgware launched a social T20 side nicknamed the 'Edgware Eagles'. The Eagles allow players who perhaps can't feature on the weekend due to other commitments to play cricket in a friendly environment and still develop their skills. The T20 side also acts as a pathway for our juniors to play adult cricket.
