Edgware CC announce tour to Spain
The club have today announced their first ever overseas tour to Malaga, Spain. Edgware will fly out on Friday 22 March, where they will then play two friendly fixtures at the Cartama Oval (one of the only grass wickets in Spain and one of three in Southern Europe). Edgware will then return home on Monday 25 March to prepare for the English cricket season.
"It's obviously going to be ideal preparation for the summer. I don't think many clubs will have the opportunity to play on grass wickets in March, and the experience should be invaluable for our league campaign. More importantly however, Spain is a hotspot for parties, beers and good times! We cant wait" spoke club captain, Ciaran Hosty, tucking into a 6-inch sub at Edgware's local subway.
Whilst the opposition is yet to be confirmed, the games are likely to range from anything between 30 and 40 overs, with local sides made up of predominately expats and some Spanish. The weather should also be a benefit to the blues, with average temperatures of around 20 degrees centigrade, considerably warmer than London for the time of year.
Any players interested in touring, should contact club captain, Ciaran Hosty as soon as possible. Deposits of £70 will be required as soon as possible, with a full tour price of £230 + flights.
