Edgware CC Announce Australian Tour Dates


Edgware Cricket Club have today announced their itinerary for the tour to Australia in 2020.

Edgware kick off their tour to Australia on Sunday 25 October against the Reg Bartley XI at the Reg Bartley Oval in Rushcutters Bay, just a stone throw away from the Sydney CBD. Edgware then have a rest day before taking on the famous I Zingari Cricket Club of Australia on Tuesday 27 October in rural bush setting of Camden Park. Edgware's third game of the tour sees them take on Cricketers Club of New South Wales at the Camperdown Oval on Thursday 29 October, before the boys in blue finish off their tour against Balmain South Sydney Cricket Club on Sunday 1 November.

Whilst the mandatory tour window is Saturday 24 October - Monday 2 November, players may extend their tour either side of these dates and there will be an option to visit Perth, Western Australia and the famous Rottnest Island either before or after the main tour window.

"The tour to Australia is just one part of an already very exciting 2020 season. We can't wait to visit our friends down under and bring back the Ashes on behalf of England!" spoke chairman Ciaran Hosty at the tour fixture reveal at Kabul Restaurant.

WHO ARE THE OPPOSITION?

1. REG BARTLEY XI

Reg Bartley XI based at the Reg Bartley Oval in Rushcutters Bay are one of the finest social cricket sides in Sydney. Formed in 2008, the Reg Bartley XI play a number of social fixtures throughout the year and participate in the City and Suburban Cricket League in Sydney.

2. I ZINGARI CC, Australia

The I Zingari CC Australia forms one half of the famous I Zingari cricket club established in 1845 by Old Harrovians in England. The Australian club were given permission to use the clubs famous colours and opened its doors in 1888 and since then is one of the most well known and widely recognised clubs in the world. The club play a mixture of competitive and friendly fixtures throughout the season and will be Edgware's second fixture on the 2020 tour.

3. CRICKETERS CLUB OF NEW SOUTH WALES

The Cricketers Club of New South Wales dates back as far as the 1940s and has a rich tradition of touring. The CCNSW have conducted more than 60 tours including places as far a field as Fiji, South America, Sri Lanka and more! It's hoped the CCNSW will be able to pass on advice on how to conduct a high-quality tour!

4. BALMAIN SOUTH SYDNEY CRICKET CLUB

The Balmain South Sydney Cricket Club was formed more than 100 years ago and has a competitive Grade, Shires, Social and Junior development system. The club attracts hundreds of players with playing ability ranging from semi-professional grade cricket to social cricketers looking for a hit out on a Sunday.

CAN I STILL ATTEND?

Yes. You can still register interest for the tour by getting in contact with tour organiser, Ciaran Hosty. Interested parties will need to have purchased their flight by early February to confirm their participation.
