2020 Inter-Club Fixture Announced
The opening fixture of the Edgware CC 2020 season will see an Edgware CC India XI take on a Edgware CC Rest of the World (R.O.W) XI at Canons High School on Friday 10th April 2020. The game will be a 35-over fixture, with the full list of rules listed below.
Player Eligibility and Auction Process
Both the R.O.W XI and India XI captains will be able to select eligible players through an auction process. Players who played in 2019 will be automatically enrolled in the auction and will have preference over those who did not play in 2019. Players who did not play in 2019 will then be invited to register for the auction process from the end of January. A 12-man squad for both the R.O.W XI and India XI will be announced via live-stream on Saturday 22 February 2020.
The India XI may only select players who either:
a) Were born in India or;
b) Have one or more parents who were born in India
Fixture Rules
The game will follow all standard MCC match rules with the following exceptions:
Batsmen will be required to retire not out at 50 runs. However, if their side is bowled out prior to the conclusion of the innings, they may return to the crease. If the said batsmen passes 50 runs during the final partnership, he or she may continue to bat.
Bowlers may bowl a maximum of 6 overs per innings and all players minus the designated wicket-keeper must bowl a minimum of 1 over during the innings.
A front foot or height no-ball will result in a free-hit to the batting side.
Cost
All 22 players will need to pay £10 to participate. The money will go to the hire cost of the school, pay for cricket balls for the fixture and if possible, an impartial umpire for the day.
