It is believed that the Edgware Cricket Club committee will meet on Saturday 20 June to discuss the fate of the Australian tour currently pencilled in for Friday 23 October - Thursday 6 November.

Whilst Australia and it's neighbours New Zealand have come out of the pandemic relatively unscathed, it is believed that Australia's recent press statement which suggests that border restrictions would not be relaxed until at least 2021 may be the final nail in the coffin for Edgware's much anticipated tour.

It is also increasingly likely that the T20 World Cup will be postponed to either March 2021 or October 2021 as the ICC accepts the logistical nightmare of arranging bio secure venues for 16 international cricket teams.

If the tour is postponed, it is believed that the committee will discuss alternative arrangements including a reschedule of the tour at a later date should there be appropriate appetite amongst the team. If the club opt to postpone the tour, they will liaise with travel agents in order to identify the most suitable course of action for cancellations, refunds, credit or rebooking.
