Ciaran Hosty and Raj Parmar inducted into the Hall of Fame

Ciaran Hosty and Raj Parmar have been officially inducted into Edgware Cricket Club's Hall of Fame as part of the 2024 cohort.

The Edgware Cricket Club Hall of Fame was created in 2021 to pay respect to Dharmish Bhatt, who's untimely passing in the same year left an enormous hole in the club. Since then, the Hall of Fame has continued to celebrate players who have made significant contributions to the club both on and off the field.

In 2022, Jude Saverus was inducted having retired earlier on in the year and having set the foundation for the club's continued success and then in 2023, both Sajith Sriwickramasekaran and Nakul Jilka were inducted having both captained the side through the Saturday League Cricket transition in 2022.

2024 Inductees

  1. CIARAN HOSTY

Club Chairman Ciaran Hosty was inducted into the hall of fame in 2024 after completing 10 successful seasons with the club.

Ciaran led the first Edgware side onto the field in July 2015 against Watford Town and would go onto captain the boys in blue on 70 occasions (a club record) over a 5-year period that saw consistent success in Sunday League Cricket and the club's first overseas tour to Malaga in 2019.

With the bat, Ciaran has scored more than 5,000 career runs with five hundreds and has taken over 70 outfield catches at point and gully (all stats are club records).

With over 150 appearances for Edgware, Ciaran is the most capped Edgware player in the club's history.

  1. RAJ PARMAR

Raj Parmar exploded onto the scene when he took 4/9 in his debut match against Monken Hadley (still a record for best bowling figures on debut). Since then, the right arm quick has continued to churn out match winning performances and support an Edgware side which has secured 7 titles/promotions over a 10-year period.

Raj currently boasts 99 career wickets (5th all-time) for Edgware and has scored more than 850 runs (9th all-time). In addition, he is known for his rocket arm and agility in the field that has seen him take over 30 outfield catches and countless run-outs.

He currently sits in 9th place on the all-time appearance list with 87 appearances (2015-2024).

We congratulate those that have been added to the Hall of Fame and look forward to seeing who is added next year!

Common Question - How are players admitted into the Hall of Fame.

Whilst there is no set criteria, the general qualifications below are used to support selection.

75+ Matches Played - 1 point

1,500 + runs scored - 1 point

75+ wickets taken - 1 point

30+ fielding dismissals - 1 point

10+ seasons played - 1 point

Players would typically expect to have a minimum of three points to be considered for selection, however, the selection committee has discretion to consider other factors when awarding inclusion.
