Club announces squads for India v ROW
The club have today announced the captains and squads for Edgware CC's inter-club fixture between India and the Rest of the World.
As anticipated, Sajith Sriwickramasekaran will captain the Rest of the World XI and former captain Ciaran Hosty will act as his vice. Similarly, Nakul Jilka will lead the Indian XI into almost certain defeat and Shuraj Vekaria will follow closely behind as his vice.
The venue for this year's fixture is still to be determined although Canons High School, Watford Town and Mill Hill School all appear to be likely candidates. It will be the first time the two sides have played each other following the cancellation of 2020's fixture due to the COVID-19 restrictions.
The squads in full (caps in brackets) are detailed below:
Eligibility and qualifications rules:
A person must be born or have parents from either India/R.O.W to qualify for each team
Where the person is born rules over a parent (with the exception of the UK)
An eligible player must have at least five Edgware First XI caps
An eligible player must have featured at least once over the past three seasons (2018, 2019 and 2020)
Captains should be aware of player categories as per subscriptions. Players from these categories should get preference.
Players outside of the category system can be selected at the discretion of the captain.
If a team cannot complete an XI under the existing rules then special requests may be made.
