Dean Veerapen amongst six players to sign contract extensions for 2021 season
Edgware Cricket Club are delighted to announce that six First XI players have agreed contract extensions with the club ahead of the 2021 season.
The most high profile of the extensions appear to be Dean Veerapen who was dramatically axed from the side in the summer following allegations of abusive behaviour towards his team-mates and bringing the game into disrepute. Dean was quoted as threatening to leave Edgware Cricket Club for rivals Belmont if he wasn't bowled more often and featured in the top five of the batting order. However, since his sacking in the summer, Dean has guided Mauritius to gold in the East African Championships beating sides such as Madagascar, Reunion, Mozambique and Tanzania in the process. It's this red-hot form that has inevitably swayed Edgware to offer him a new contract.
The full-list of contract extensions are listed below:
Dean Veerapen - Contract extend until 1/10/2024
Sagar Raghvani - Contract offered until 1/10/2024
