Edgware secure promotion in debut Saturday season

Edgware Cricket Club will join Royal Herts and Batchworth in the promotion places from the Hertfordshire Saturday League Division 12 South after a successful debut season.

Edgware's second place finish was already secured ahead of their game against Northwood this Saturday, however, there was an opportunity to finish top provided they could get all 30 points and rivals Royal Herts lost. Unfortunately for Edgware though, the rain came and all chance of getting a completed fixture faded within the hour.

Edgware will likely go up one division to Division 11 ahead of the 2023 season, although there is an outside chance that they could move higher subject to divisional restructuring. "It's a terrific achievement to secure promotion in our debut season. I think Sajith has lead the boys brilliantly and there have been some outstanding performances this year. We've been pleasantly surprised by the quality in the division and furthermore, the challenge of competing against two First XI sides in Royal Herts and Batchworth has meant that it was never going to be plain sailing" spoke Chairman Ciaran Hosty.
