Veerapen listed in Draft for Gibraltar Premier League

Dean Veerapen's meteoric rise hit a new high this morning when it was confirmed he would be included in the draft for the Gibraltar Premier League set to take place in March 2022.

If selected, Veerapen will likely join just a handful of permitted overseas players in the tournament designed to provide competitive opportunities for players vying for Gibraltar national team selection.

"It's great mate. Bit of sun, bit of bowling and a few JD and cokes after the game sounds like a good time to me" said Dean Veerapen when interviewed this morning via WhatsApp.

The new Gibraltar Premier League will commence in March and be played at the Europa Sports Complex with three new teams, the Calpe Giants, Hardings Hurricanes and Lathbury Lightining.

The club believes that Kishan Varsani has also been approached whilst Ciaran Hosty has withdrawn from the draft following uncertainty around his fitness heading into 2022. We wish Dean the best of luck in the draft in January and hope he powers to success.
